Key Responsibilities:

The primary objective is to provide grantors with timely and accurate financial insights while adhering to federal regulations. This role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer and collaborate closely with the Director of Refugee Resettlement & Newcomer Services. As our organization evolves, adaptability to new reporting processes is crucial.

The main duties of this position encompass, but are not limited to:
  • Entering financial data into QuickBooks Online and other client-specific software platforms.
  • Managing configurations and extracting data from various vendor portals.
  • Identifying discrepancies in data capture and communicating them effectively.
  • Maintaining awareness of deadlines and proactively preparing data for financial reporting.
  • Conducting monthly reconciliations of grant accounts.
  • Performing additional tasks as assigned by the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Upholding a respectful and professional communication standard with all colleagues.
This position is full-time, requiring 40 hours per week, with an annual salary of $55,000. The holiday schedule includes federal holidays observed during regular hours, along with several Jewish holidays. Benefits include accrued sick leave, paid time off, and personal days, in addition to health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, and life insurance. A 401(k) plan will be available after an initial six-month period.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's Degree is preferred, though candidates demonstrating strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills may be considered.
  • Experience in accounting for federal grants is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and a solid understanding of standard software applications.
  • Ability to manage large datasets effectively.
  • Trustworthiness and a commitment to confidentiality.

  • Excellent time management skills, with the capacity to meet deadlines.

In line with the tradition of 'welcoming the stranger', the JCC Association supports displaced refugees through community partnerships. This program requires a Grant Accounting Associate to assist with the financial aspects of its operations, playing a vital role in fulfilling the reporting obligations of the Refugee Resettlement & Newcomer Services.
