As a new Sr. Compliance Specialist at Oakbrook Corporation, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve conducting regular audits to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, investigating any compliance issues that arise, and providing feedback and support to onsite property managers. You will be tasked with staying up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices, as well as collaborating with various team members to streamline compliance processes. Join us in upholding our commitment to integrity and ethical business practices as we navigate the complexity of Affordable Housing Programs such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Section 8 Project Based Vouchers, Rural Development, CDBG Funds, and HOME funds. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES ● Maintain technical understanding of compliance requirements for various affordable housing programs ● Monitor compliance for a diverse portfolio ● Review & Approve all resident files prior to certification deadline ● Maintain & Review state housing agency monitoring compliance manuals and state specific compliance requirements ● Assist in state and investor file audits and conduct necessary research to prepare response ● Assist in agency and investor reporting ● Maintain OneSite Database ● Compose and proof materials ● Demonstrates and follows the Oakbrook Values ● All other duties as assigned Are you the Compliance Specialist we're looking for?

To excel as a Sr. Compliance Specialist at Oakbrook Corporation, you should possess a strong understanding of regulatory compliance frameworks, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a keen eye for detail. Effective communication skills are essential for interfacing with internal teams and external regulatory bodies. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required for generating reports and analyzing data. The ability to work independently, prioritize tasks efficiently, and adapt to changing compliance requirements are key to success in this role. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES ● 2-3 years of Affordable Housing experience preferred (HUD Sec. 8, Tax Credit, Rural Development, HOME, CDBG, etc.) ● Monitoring compliance with federally subsidized housing programs, specifically Section 8 and LIHTC programs ● Preparing for and participating in audits with government regulatory agencies ● Working with HUD's REAC system and overseeing EIV reporting and monitoring ● Knowledge of Fair Housing Laws ● Manage and comply with strict, recurring deadlines ● Working knowledge of property management systems (RealPage, Yardi, etc.) ● HCCP and/or COS Certificates are a bonus Your next step
