Title: Senior Coffee Specialist

Work Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly

Reports to: General Manager

Position Overview: Responsible for managing the daily functions of the café, which includes training and overseeing team members, assisting with inventory management, and ensuring compliance with all food safety and health regulations. Provide education on coffee products and beverages to enhance the knowledge of both customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the creation and enhancement of the coffee menu
  2. Welcome customers and address their inquiries regarding ingredients
  3. Process orders with attention to detail (e.g., preferences for coffee drinks, types of milk, etc.)
  4. Prepare beverages according to established recipes
  5. Handle transactions (cash and credit) efficiently
  6. Maintain cleanliness of the bar area
  7. Ensure adequate stock levels of all products
  8. Monitor brewing equipment functionality and report maintenance needs
  9. Adhere to health and safety standards
  10. Relay customer feedback to the appropriate management

Qualifications:

Prior experience in a barista role is essential.

Hands-on knowledge of brewing equipment is required.

Understanding of sanitation standards is necessary.

Flexibility to work various shifts is important.

Basic mathematical skills are needed.

Ability to assess customer preferences is vital.

Strong communication skills are essential.

Relevant training or certifications are advantageous.
