The Operations Business Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving business growth and optimizing operations through the analysis and improvement of systems, processes, and strategies.
Job Brief:
The Operations Business Analyst works closely with cross-functional teams to analyze and identify opportunities for enhancing business performance, implementing recent technologies, and achieving strategic team objectives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Vice President of Member Services:
Gathers needs, documents, sources, and leads the build out of processes critical to business operations.
Elicits and documents business requirements for system enhancements or recent technology implementations.
Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in the organization's systems and processes.
Collaborates with management to develop and refine strategic initiatives and business objectives, ensuring alignment with the company's goals.
Propose technical and non-technical solutions that both satisfy the Underwriting and New Business teams (i.e., business users) and conform to the technical architecture. Drive design decisions which optimize overall quality and performance.
Assist with the development and execution of effective test plans.
Evaluates and leads recommendations of technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support strategic goals.
Identifies and implements systems & process improvements to streamline workflows and increase productivity.
Leads in managing the transition to new systems or processes, including training and support for end-users.
Defines key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of strategic system initiatives and regularly report on progress.
Assesses potential risks and challenges associated with strategic system changes; communicates to all stakeholders and recommends mitigation strategies.
Complies with all pertinent laws/regulations, bylaws and policies established by the Board, the President & CEO and all written/verbal instructions received from the Vice President of Member Services.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience of 5 -7 years in an insurance environment, including policy administration systems, policy illustration systems & other client management tools.
Demonstrated experience as a process analyst, with strategic insights into process improvement in a service environment.
Strong analytical skills and proficiency with process /data analysis tools and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects successfully, develop process and workflow, process management & change management documentation.
Strategic/critical thinker and can bridge the gap between technology and strategic business goals to drive success and achievement of goals.
Excellent communication and people skills for collaborating across the various business units.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools, Jira, ZenDesk are highly preferred.
