Business Systems Analyst

We are currently seeking a Business Analyst to support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in comprehensive lifecycle requirements analysis and management, along with strong communication skills to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders. This role demands a strategic mindset capable of analyzing intricate business data to provide insights and recommendations that enhance strategic decision-making and boost organizational performance. We appreciate analysts who are eager to become domain experts and are willing to embrace new challenges. This position is remote.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver expertise in gathering, analyzing, designing, coordinating, testing, and supporting customer business reporting and analytical requirements.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies within business data.
- Collaborate with business process owners, technical teams, and project leaders to utilize data and data strategies across a wide range of business and operational needs.
- Assist in the design, development, testing, debugging, and documentation of information systems and programs.
- Translate business needs into analytical requirements.
- Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and actionable format.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across various systems.
- Lead feasibility studies to evaluate cost/benefit, efficiency, and technical viability of solutions to business challenges.
- Support the development and implementation of technical solutions in accordance with DHS guidelines.
As with any technical role, the specific responsibilities may evolve in response to the changing needs of our client. We seek adaptable candidates who thrive on new challenges and can take on additional responsibilities as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications:- Proven expertise in requirements management and analysis, preferably in government or consultancy environments.
- 4+ years of experience in a business analyst role, ideally within a data-intensive setting.
- Familiarity with relational database environments, structured analysis, data modeling, and information engineering to support system planning.
- Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Understanding of government agency SELC frameworks and methodologies (experience with DHS is a plus).
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, or a related field is preferred.
