The Business Operations Transformation Analyst will operate under the direction of the Senior Manager of Business Operations Transformation and the Senior Director of Continuous Improvement. This role will assist the team of business operations specialists in enhancing AES Global Renewables.

This position will concentrate on supporting the improvement of personnel development, processes, technology, systems, and procedures (collectively referred to as 'ways of working'). These enhancements will align with the Global Renewables Scale to Grow (GRS2G) program objectives, which include: (a) supporting AES' Global Renewables business growth at scale, (b) increasing the rate of on-time/on-budget performance in renewable energy project delivery, and (c) enhancing the quality of the experience for AES Renewables personnel.

In this capacity, the Analyst will develop an understanding of the AES Global Renewables Organization. They will have opportunities to collaborate with all functional groups within AES Global Renewables and support the necessary organizational improvements to maintain AES Global Renewables as a leading provider of renewable energy and decarbonization solutions.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist in identifying, planning, and communicating areas for enhancement: The Analyst will collaborate cross-functionally to gather insights regarding potential improvements in ways of working. They will aid in synthesizing findings and making recommendations for enhancements.
  • Support in designing and facilitating workstreams: The Analyst will assist the Senior Manager in employing the GRS2G methodology to collaborate with cross-functional groups of AES Renewables experts organized in improvement workstreams to design, develop, and implement organizational enhancements. This includes but is not limited to:
    • Supporting internal stakeholder identification and engagement.
    • Assisting in planning and facilitating quarterly GRS2G improvement workshops.
    • Aiding Workstreams and Workstream Leaders in developing quarterly sprint improvement plans.
    • Assisting cross-functional teams in delivering improvements through agile/scrum methodologies, including bi-weekly 'stand-up calls' and weekly progress reporting.
    • Supporting the drafting and creation of essential business operations documents and supporting materials such as processes, procedures, policies, charters, architectures, and reference materials.
    • Assisting in identifying and engaging senior business leaders to facilitate key business decisions.
    • Supporting the use of various facilitation techniques in GRS2G workstreams to promote collaboration and critical thinking, helping to drive innovative solutions, and reporting on the progress of improvement workstreams to ensure they meet quarterly objectives and deliverables.
  • The Analyst will collaborate closely with workstream leaders and the AES Renewables Change Management Team to ensure that new ways of working are communicated, understood, and adopted. This includes:
    • Supporting the development of Change Management plans.
    • Assisting in identifying change impact audiences and quantifying levels of impact.
    • Aiding in the creation of educational materials to raise awareness of new ways of working.
    • Assisting in designing training materials to ensure new practices are adopted and implemented by target audiences.
    • Supporting the development of communication strategies and packages to ensure widespread understanding of changes being implemented.
  • Assist in driving continuous improvement feedback loops: The Analyst will collaborate with designated teams to gather feedback regarding implementation. They will support the Senior Manager in ensuring that the GRS2G program swiftly adapts its improvements to meet the dynamic business environment of AES Global Renewables.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2 years of direct experience in organizational change/process management and/or business consulting preferred.
  • Inquisitive nature with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, adept at systems-level thinking, and possessing a 'Growth Mindset'.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of managing healthy conflict while maintaining professional relationships.
  • Training or accreditation in Lean Six Sigma and/or Agile Methodologies is advantageous.
  • Experience with digital management systems and/or Artificial Intelligence is a plus.
  • PMP certification or PMI experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry and renewable generation technologies is beneficial.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, and SharePoint; capabilities in SAP ERP implementation are a plus.
