Patient Services Specialist

We are seeking a full-time, hybrid Patient Services Specialist to join our clinic located near Providence St. Vincent Hospital in SW Portland. You will work with exceptional physicians who value their team and working together to help our patients get the best possible care. Our busy practice receives a high volume of patient calls, and we are searching for a candidate that is a self-starter, with a positive attitude, who can work independently, and has a customer-focused work ethic. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in a medical front office setting, preferably with proficiency in handling multi-line phone systems. They should be knowledgeable about insurance and referral processes, team-oriented, and capable of multitasking effectively in a fast-paced environment.Primary duties include scheduling appointments for new and established patients, obtaining and completing insurance information, answering phones, updating records as needed, and other duties as assigned. The position will primarily be phone-based and is high volume and requires excellent customer service and communication skills. Hybrid remote work available upon training completion for candidates located in the Portland Metro area.Workdays will be Monday-Friday, 8:00 - 4:30, 40 hours per week.Hiring pay based on open position, experience, and credentials:Level I - $18.33- $24.81 per hour.Level II - $20.17 - $27.29 per hour.Level III - $22.18 - $30.01 per hour.Placement within levels based on specialty group, experience, additional duties.Medical, Vision, and Rx Insurance is 100% paid for by The Oregon Clinic for full-time employees.Qualifications:Minimum 1 year of medical front office experience needed, 3 years preferred.Prior EPIC experience needed.Excellent phone skills and customer service skillsExcellent attendance and work ethicPositive attitude and desire to be a team playerAbility to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, staff, and providersAdditional Benefits:Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) + 8 paid holidaysGenerous 401(k) retirement planFlexible Spending Account Robust Wellness ProgramsPet Insurance70% of Tri-Met pass coveredLots of discounts to local stores and activitiesThis description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
