Job Summary

At Northern Light Health, we are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team. As a Patient Care Specialist, you will provide direct and indirect patient care under the direction of our nursing staff. Your duties will include feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, and moving patients, as well as changing linens. You may also be responsible for transferring or transporting patients.

Responsibilities

* Communicate and interact with patients and families, physicians, peers, and other healthcare members to maximize successful customer outcomes and maximize function of the unit.
* Precept team members to job function
* Orient patient to hospital environment and routine
* Attend and serve on one unit committee or educational peer opportunity to improve quality and/or engagement.
* Document all aspects of patient care in a timely manner.
* Participate in unit quality improvement initiatives.
* Communicate appropriate information and patient needs to oncoming staff at change of shift and to RN in a timely manner for follow-up.
* Provide care in accordance with the patient's plan of care.
* Label and deliver specimens per policy.
* Maintain a safe environment complying with Northern Light Health policies and procedures; report and directly address environmental hazards and violations of patient safety policy and/or protocol when involved or observed.

Requirements

* Required Certified Nursing Assistant

Working Conditions

* Lifting, moving, and loading 30 to 50 pounds.
* Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
