The Human Resources Generalist is an integral part of the human resource department and will work cross functionally within and outside the department. The Human Resource Generalist will be the glue that ensures the successful management of the life cycle of employee information across all five (5) Placon facilities. The Human Resource Generalist will report to the Human Resource Manager at the Madison, WI facility.

Staffing, Onboarding, & Training

  • Develop, deliver, and coordinate comprehensive onboarding programs to welcome new employees and ensure a smooth transition
  • Coordinates the handoff of candidates from the recruiter to start the onboarding process (background check and pre-employment testing)
Employee Relations
  • Establishes a reputation of a trusted advisor through interaction with staff members within the assigned business units and responds timely and effectively to employee inquiries, issues, and concerns
  • Answers frequently asked questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.; refers more complex questions to the appropriate individual
HR reporting & Metrics
  • Maintain organizational charts and monthly headcount reports
  • Gather documents and prepare information for unemployment agencies
HRIS Management:
  • Maintain and manage the accuracy of information in HR Information System (HRIS) to ensure data accuracy and integrity (onboarding, offboarding and employee life cycle changes)
  • Generate reports and analyze HR metrics as needed
Event Planning:
  • Organize and coordinate company events, such as team-building activities, workshops, and company meetings
Other Job Functions:
  • Complete verifications of employment
  • Updates to company intranet site as needed
  • Order department supplies as needed
  • Other projects as required

  • An understanding of the ethics and requirements of maintaining confidentiality as appropriate in a variety of circumstances and scenarios

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience
  • Ability to work on premise at the Madison, WI facility
