**Faculty Engagement Strategist**

Job Summary:

- The **Faculty Engagement Strategist** is responsible for engaging academic communities within the Institute’s **focus areas** that advance the liberal values and priorities of our organization. The Strategist engages with the scholars to better understand the frontiers of academic research within one or more of our focus areas, inform organization strategy, and facilitate the participation of faculty partners in Institute programs and opportunities.

Reporting to the Managing Director of Business Intelligence and Academic Relations, the Strategist also collaborates with other IHS departments to assist in the development activities aimed at achieving organizational goals and as well as articulating the story of organizational impact to key stakeholders.
- Supervisory Responsibilities:

- None.
- Duties/Responsibilities:

- Acquire information on leading scholars and scholarship working on topics of interest to IHS, ensuring the Institute knows the key ideas and talent related to their focus areas.
- Work with an internal business intelligence and data capability to understand, identify, and distinguish research topics and academic communities in accordance with organizational initiatives.
- Build and maintain a portfolio of scholars based on organizational relationships of interest and focus area work within the Strategist’s purview.
- Facilitate relationships with scholars in research communities that are important to IHS priorities to aid in programs in grant making.
- Manage invitation process and staff and facilitate conversations with academic partners in settings including but not limited to round tables and discussion colloquia.
- Collaborate with Academic Programs, Program Operations, and other relevant stakeholders to plan and execute programs related to the Strategist’s focuses.
- Attend academic conferences and other key events to interact with scholars and individuals of interest.
- 15-25% travel required for this role.

- 4+ years working with an academic audience.
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Superior interpersonal skills, a passion for teamwork, and a strong collaborative mindset to work seamlessly with cross-functional groups.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with external and internal stakeholders with varied levels of professional and academic experience.
- Ability to critically evaluate and prioritize information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts through a data-driven approach.
- Experience working with a CRM (Salesforce) software system highly preferred.
