Position Summary

The Billing Compliance Specialist will be responsible for leading the Department of Urology compliance program.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assess clinical documentation to confirm it supports medical services for appropriate billing of reported services.
- CPT and ICD-10 coding will be assessed and monitored.
- Observe and educate Coding Specialist team members and assisting with their coding inquiries.
- Mentor physicians on how to bill for services appropriately.
- Coordinate retrospective monthly billing compliance reviews of inpatient surgeries and evaluation and management services for the department.
- Preparation of monthly summary reports for the Department Administrator and the Office of Billing Compliance.
- Coordinate existing compliance with existing Departmental policies.
- Assist with preparation, editing, and revision of provider encounter forms as necessary.
- Perform related administrative tasks as directed by the Department Administrator.
- Assist with providing education and teaching to faculty and staff.
- Performs other related duties.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience.
- 4 years of billing compliance experience.
- CPC certification (AAPC).

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of medical terminology is strongly preferred.
- EPIC or other practice management system experience preferred.

Other Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
- Excellent telephone etiquette.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
