POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the Compliance Specialist plays a crucial role in managing office operations, providing administrative support, and executing secretarial tasks for the compliance department and its personnel. This position involves ensuring adherence to agency standards related to Day Habilitation and Resident Habilitation billing processes. The role requires a blend of independent judgment and collaborative effort to fulfill a variety of complex administrative responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Engage with program administrators throughout the organization.
  • Assess and review weekly and monthly billing submissions for residential programs.
  • Compile and present summaries of billing reviews on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Work alongside program administrators to address and resolve billing-related issues.
  • Oversee the documentation process for relevant billing materials, including Level of Care, Life Plans, and Staff Action Plans.
  • Educate program administrators on compliance policies and billing regulations.
  • Stay informed about agency and governmental regulatory standards concerning Life Plans and Care Coordination.
  • Maintain proficiency in the agency's Medisked system functionalities.
  • Coordinate appointment schedules for supervisors, ensuring efficient use of their time and directing inquiries to appropriate resources.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing communications for the Compliance Department.
  • Prepare and organize documentation such as memos and meeting minutes for review by department administrators.
  • Maintain office supplies and equipment inventory for the Compliance Department.
  • Organize and distribute mail and packages for the department.
  • Establish and update filing systems for department records.
  • Assist with photocopying and collating tasks as needed.
  • Collaborate effectively with other team members within the Compliance Department.
  • Facilitate logistics for Compliance Department meetings, including scheduling and resource management.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively engage with colleagues, clients, and their families.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capable of working both independently and as part of a team while managing multiple tasks.
  • Adept at problem-solving and implementing corrective actions.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Availability for in-person work during standard business hours.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • A Bachelor's degree in human services or a related field is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Prior experience in administrative support is advantageous but not essential.

COMPENSATION: $41,000-$44,000 with comprehensive benefits.
