We offer competitive salaries ranging from $60,000 to $75,000, based on experience, and a strong commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance carriers for timely reimbursement.
  • Investigate and resolve claim denials, identifying root causes and taking necessary actions to appeal or correct denied claims.
  • Communicate with prospective families regarding their out-of-network benefits and potential reimbursements.
  • Assist families in verifying coverage and eligibility, including obtaining pre-authorization for treatment when necessary.
  • Provide ongoing support and customer service to clients and families, addressing inquiries and facilitating communication with insurance carriers.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies while adhering to best practices in medical billing.
  • Monitor outstanding claims, follow up with insurance companies, and address any discrepancies to ensure timely reimbursement.
  • Record and reconcile payments received, ensuring accuracy and updating patient accounts accordingly.
  • Generate and analyze financial reports related to billing, collections, and outstanding accounts, providing insights to management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors to prepare for insurance audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, staff, and referral sources, fostering a collaborative environment.
Qualifications:
  • 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, preferably in an outpatient behavioral health setting.
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with a self-motivated approach to completing projects.
  • Strong commitment to customer service, ensuring an exceptional experience for clients and staff.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with families and payors.
  • Proficient in computer skills, including Google Suite, billing software, and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Thorough understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT coding, and health insurance policies.
  • Knowledge of insurance billing procedures and requirements is highly preferred.
  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding is a plus.
  • Understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
  • Uphold ethical standards in billing practices and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
