_**Facilitator for Anti-Cyberbullying Project-Based Learning Experience**_

The Cyberbullying project-based learning facilitator will lead 2 groups of 16-18 students in a collaborative, project-based experience focused on learning about cyberbullying, what forms it takes, its impact, and policies and resources to address it. Students will then decide what they want to do to help address cyberbullying (options could include writing and recording a podcast on the issue, suggesting changes in school policies, creating and delivering a workshop for their peers, writing a letter to the editor, creating a PSA, etc. The facilitator will create the unit plan for the five weeks using instructional resources that LEAP has as well as other materials the facilitator finds. The Facilitator will be paid for 15 hours of upfront planning time and 2 hours of weekly planning time during the session.

**The hours for the position are 8:30 AM - 12:15 PM, Monday-Thursday. **PBL facilitators will work with two groups of students each day (1.5 hours of project time each day with each group). Each class session will start with team building and group games (resources provided). Facilitators will have support in the classroom from a Group Leader and Behavior Specialists (who float between a couple groups) and the Site Coordinator who oversees day-to-day operations.

**Compensation**:District contractual rate for certified teachers ($45-$50 depending on district). Non-certified educators $30-$35 depending on experience.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop a project-based unit drawing on resources that LEAP has as well as other ideas. The project is expected to introduce students to the PBL topic, provide opportunities for student exploration, and experience a series of activities/investigations that lead to the development of a final project. Lesson plans should include hands-on activities every day. LEAP staff can be a thought partner in creating the unit.
- Facilitate students in the development of a final project and guide their completion of the project.
- Support and build in accommodations for students on IEPs and Behavior Plans.
- Incorporate strategies and activities that develop students’ social emotional skills, including working with group leader to lead SEL games and activities.
- Help direct a group leader in how to support instructional activities.
- Help to identify field trip options connected to PBL project and accompany students on field trips.
- Communicate specific student needs to Site Coordinator.
- Participate in a 1-day staff training (June 20 for Salem program and June 21 for Lynn program) and periodic staff meetings (dates TBA). (Meeting time is paid time.)

**Job Requirements**:

- Classroom or similar group instructional experience with a background in teaching humanities, ELA, or social justice.
- Experience working with middle school youth from diverse backgrounds, preferred, not required
- Proven ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students to learn
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Understanding of (or experience with) project-based or service-learning strongly preferred
