The CPM will play a crucial role in ensuring that all project objectives related to safety, quality, cost, and timelines are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of anaerobic digestion and energy generation projects, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards throughout the development, engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of internal and external professionals, providing technical guidance and support during design, construction, commissioning, and transition to operations.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key equipment vendors, contractors, and engineers to facilitate the successful delivery of multiple construction projects.
  • Coordinate all purchasing processes, including bid preparation, management of the bidding process, and tracking of costs throughout contract execution.
  • Negotiate and manage design-build, engineering, and construction contracts, ensuring clarity in scope, schedule, and cost management while balancing risk with stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project closeout activities, including managing the transition to operations and ensuring all documentation, including as-builts, is accurately recorded.
  • Maintain a strong focus on project budgets, cash flow, and risk management, collaborating with finance for effective budget tracking.
  • Provide regular status updates to senior management regarding project progress, capital budget forecasting, and any issues impacting key milestones.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness throughout all project phases, from design through construction and into operations.
  • Assist with technical due diligence and operational issues as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and recommend improvements as necessary.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing project efficiency in terms of time, cost, quality, and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Over 10 years of experience in project management within the commercial, energy, or industrial sectors.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaboration.
  • Proven ability to assess project risks and proactively develop solutions.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of navigating complex and rapidly changing environments.
  • Proficiency in project scheduling tools such as Primavera or MS Project, with a focus on managing critical path priorities.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, cost management software, and cloud-based ERP systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to take calculated risks and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Preference for candidates with experience in industrial-scale wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, and renewable natural gas facilities.

Travel Requirements
This position requires travel of approximately 30%-50%.
