Job Summary and Qualifications

  • Catalyst for building relationships with EMS services/first responders, other hospitals, and the community for transports and referrals to Rapides Regional Medical Center. Fosters good public relations for the hospital and EMS.
  • Responsible for EMS patient volume growth.
  • Leads, Coordinates, attend and participate in routine meetings with EMS and hospital administration to discuss evolving services at NHH in relation to EMS services;

  • Collaborate with the hospital leadership team to plan, develop, implement and evaluate EMS business plan strategies
  • Develops partnered hospital, EMS and community education opportunities
  • Coordinates and provides appropriate patient feedback to EMS agencies.
  • Helps identify any changes in national standards and assist in making revisions to Hospital's policies/standards to assure compliance with pre-hospital national standards.
  • Coordinates with ED Director and ED Medical Director EMS care management including planning and implementing of clinical protocols/practice management guidelines
  • Leads and/or coordinate community Emergency Medical Services and Emergency Department performance improvement initiatives
  • Participates with disaster planning/program for department, hospital, community and regional advisory council.
  • Develops, manages and facilitates quality assurance activities relating to pre-hospital care.
  • Assist ED Director in multidisciplinary committee meetings.
  • Represents NHH at the Regional Advisory Council meetings.
  • Participates in clinical rounds.
  • Acts as a liaison for the hospital with community and regional EMS providers.
  • Function as team member in the ED as ED tech at times of high volume or disaster.
  • Participates in ED management processes as indicated/delegated by Director/Manager.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
  • Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP)
  • Certificate, or Vocational School Graduate
