Key Responsibilities and Qualifications
  • Adhere to the HCA Code of Conduct and demonstrate behaviors aligned with our mission and goals.
  • Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, following safety and infection control protocols.
  • Support departmental performance improvement initiatives.
  • Exemplify Rapides Regional Medical Center's standards of performance, including accountability, leadership, and a commitment to safety.
  • Build and maintain relationships with EMS services, first responders, and the community for effective patient transport and referrals.
  • Drive growth in EMS patient volume.
  • Lead and participate in meetings with EMS and hospital administration to discuss service evolution.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to develop and evaluate EMS business strategies.
  • Facilitate education opportunities for hospitals, EMS, and the community.
  • Provide feedback to EMS agencies regarding patient care.
  • Stay informed on national standards and assist in updating hospital policies to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with the Emergency Department leadership on EMS care management and clinical protocols.
  • Lead community EMS performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in disaster planning and community advisory councils.
  • Manage quality assurance activities related to pre-hospital care.
  • Represent the hospital at regional advisory council meetings.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and act as a liaison with community EMS providers.
  • Support the Emergency Department as needed during high volume periods.
  • Engage in management processes as delegated by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required within 90 days of employment.
  • PALS certification required within 60 months of employment.
  • Emergency Medical Paramedic certification or equivalent vocational training.
