Position Summary:

We are looking for an Emergency Medical Services Coordinator to join our team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient care to all patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the HCA Code of Conduct and demonstrate behaviors aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ensure patient and personal safety by maintaining a secure and therapeutic environment, complying with Safety and Infection Control Programs.
  • Support hospital and departmental Performance Improvement Goals.
  • Exemplify Rapides Regional Medical Center's Standards of Performance: Accountability, Leadership, Willingness, Attitude, and You First Safety.
  • Act as a catalyst for building relationships with EMS services, first responders, and the community for patient transports and referrals.
  • Promote positive public relations for the hospital and EMS.
  • Drive growth in EMS patient volume.
  • Lead and coordinate meetings with EMS and hospital administration to discuss service evolution.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate EMS business strategies.
  • Facilitate education opportunities for partnered hospitals, EMS, and the community.
  • Provide appropriate patient feedback to EMS agencies.
  • Assist in identifying changes in national standards and updating hospital policies to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate with ED Director and Medical Director on EMS care management and clinical protocols.
  • Lead community EMS and Emergency Department performance improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in disaster planning and programs for the department and community.
  • Manage quality assurance activities related to pre-hospital care.
  • Represent the hospital at Regional Advisory Council meetings.
  • Act as a liaison for the hospital with community and regional EMS providers.
  • Function as a team member in the ED during high volume or disaster situations.
  • Engage in ED management processes as delegated by the Director/Manager.

Qualifications:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification must be obtained within 60 months of employment.
  • Emergency Medical Paramedic Certificate or Vocational School Graduate.
