License: Current RN License or a current multistate compact RN License

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association

Must-Have: Med/Surg experience, experience with post-surgical care, ENT and/or Transplant experience preferred

Description:
We are seeking a Registered Nurse with a specialty in surgical care to join our team on a med/surg unit. This role involves providing nursing care to a variety of patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex. Responsibilities include assuming responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting patient responses to interventions, assisting physicians during examinations, obtaining and monitoring physiological data, administering medications, and interacting with patients and their families regarding care plans and hospital procedures.

Candidates should have experience in managing patients post-operatively, including care for new drains, wounds, tracheotomies, ostomies, and nasogastric or Dobhoff tubes. Some patients may require step-down care, with nursing ratios generally at 5:1 for surgical patients and 3:1 for step-down care.

Skills Required:
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs.
- Basic computer skills.

Education:
- Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing from a board-approved program.
