Position Summary:
Reporting to the Chief People and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, the Vice President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) will lead the organization's efforts to advance its anti-racist goals and promote an inclusive organizational culture. The VP of DEI is responsible for developing and implementing strategies, programs, and initiatives to promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) across all aspects of our organization in partnership with internal and external stakeholders.


Essential Duties:


  • Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Chief in developing and driving the organization's overall DEI strategy in alignment with our mission, values, and business objectives.
  • Co-chair the DEI Council and lead the goal-setting and execution of DEI initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and resource to employees at all levels on DEI matters, providing mentorship, guidance, and support as needed.
  • Partner with senior leadership to integrate DEI principles into all organizational aspects, including hiring, retention, promotion, and employee development.
  • Collaborate with HR to establish and implement inclusive recruitment and hiring practices to attract diverse talent at all organizational levels.
  • Partner with HR to develop and implement policies and practices that create a more inclusive and equitable workplace environment.
  • Design and deliver training programs and workshops to increase awareness and understanding of DEI issues among employees and leadership.
  • Support Employee Resource Groups (ERG) in building a community that is inclusive of the needs of different identities and stakeholders.
  • Continuously evaluate DEI programs to drive improvement, identifying areas for innovation and growth.
  • Inform internal and external DEI-related communications.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and success in advancing DEI initiatives and regularly report on outcomes to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and subject matter experts to enhance employee DEI learning opportunities.
  • Manage a team of external and internal consultants.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends, best practices, and legal requirements related to DEI, and ensure that our policies and practices remain up-to-date and compliant.
  • Externally, represent the organization as a thought leader and advocate for DEI, participating in industry forums, conferences, and partnerships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Eight years of experience leading DEI initiatives in an organizational setting, with a proven track record of success.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; an additional four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Four years of experience developing and delivering DEI training programs and workshops.
  • Three years of experience managing a team.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and interpret data to drive decision-making.
  • Outstanding project management skills with the ability to manage complex initiatives.
  • Proven experience effectively managing and leading teams.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and compliance requirements related to DEI and human resources.
