Position Overview
This role presents a significant opportunity for a leader in New York to influence the affordable housing and community development sector. Enterprise collaborates with affordable housing developers, community leaders, public agencies, and policymakers throughout New York to unite resources and enhance the affordable housing supply, preserve existing housing, and strengthen community assets, thereby creating vibrant and inclusive neighborhoods. Our efforts include deploying capital, shaping policy, and implementing programmatic interventions through training, technical assistance, and targeted grants. Since 1987, we have invested over $5.2 billion in the region, resulting in the creation and preservation of nearly 84,000 affordable homes.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Vice President and Housing Solutions Leader will spearhead the delivery of Enterprise's programmatic solutions, innovations, and policy initiatives to generate sustainable impact in the region. This leadership position will provide comprehensive solutions to achieve significant outcomes, leveraging Enterprise's full resources to address local challenges. The leader will engage with partners, assess the needs of local and state government entities, nonprofit and for-profit developers, and the public and banking sectors, offering solutions that align with affordable housing and community development strategies in low-income areas.
Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to our mission and the communities we serve. A deep understanding of the pressing housing challenges faced by low-income and vulnerable populations in New York, along with knowledge of innovative programs and policies that can advance solutions in areas such as preservation, supportive housing, fair housing, economic mobility, and sustainable development, is essential.
Required skills include demonstrated leadership experience, a commitment to racial equity, strong relationship management abilities, a proven fundraising track record, and expertise in affordable housing finance. The candidate should also have the capacity to support staff in achieving success, foster teamwork, and cultivate a positive organizational culture aligned with diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
Management and Leadership Duties
The Senior Vice President will report to a Senior Vice President of Programs and will be part of a leadership cohort of market leaders nationwide. This role involves managing a dedicated team and collaborating closely with internal colleagues and external partners.
Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position ranges from $240,000 to $245,000, depending on skills and experience.
