The Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) will provide strategic Human Resources leadership to MissionSquare and its affiliates. The role will be responsible for providing executive-level strategic guidance and direction to the company’s Leadership Team to build the company’s workforce capabilities in meeting the growing and competitive demands of its served and potential future markets and customers. The CHRO will develop and actively lead the Human Resources function to ensure that MissionSquare’s company-wide objectives and goals are appropriately resourced and met.

Essential Functions for this role include:

  • Proactively drive, lead, influence, and manage the Human Resources organization to ensure that the human capital needs of the company are met, as well as anticipating the future needs of the organization and areas of potential disruption.
  • Coach and advise senior leaders and managers regarding strategic and complex employee relations issues and provide proactive solutions and alternatives that are pragmatic.
  • Partner and consult with other members of the Leadership Team to identify and address critical organization/people issues, restructuring, and acquisitions.
  • Identify Human Resources challenges associated with the business plan over the medium and long term in order to develop and implement Human Resources programs that are in alignment with the corporate strategy.
  • Create and implement the infrastructure and systems for all facets of an employee’s lifecycle within the organization with a focus on talent acquisition, development, performance management, and engagement/retention.
  • Provide expertise and leadership to develop and implement comprehensive, effective training programs designed to enhance employee skills, support organizational growth and ensure alignment with company objectives, regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide leadership to the Human Resources team to generate and implement creative solutions to solve highly complex or ambiguous people-related issues.
  • Monitor market trends and best practices to ensure our Human Resources programs remain competitive to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Provide expertise and support in executive compensation, as well as ongoing market analysis of base salary and development of new compensation incentive plans and structures within the context of MissionSquare’s regulatory profile, including the IRS’ intermediate sanctions rules.
  • Provide leadership for total rewards strategies, structures, and plans.
  • Be an active and influencing voice with leaders and managers across the firm by addressing critical challenges and opportunities to improve and engage MissionSquare’s workforce.
  • Provide leadership in the development of organizational and people strategies and guide critical decision making with practical, proactive solutions.
  • Champion a diverse and inclusive learning company culture and ensure continuous learning and development opportunities for employees.

If you have the following skills, we encourage you to apply:

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive executive-level experience in Human Resources, ideally in the financial services industry, including working at organizations whose Human Resources function is known for being used as a valued, strategic, and engaged partner to the business.

  • In‐depth knowledge of all Human Resources functions, including employment law, culture transformation, talent development, and executive compensation, including the requirements applicable to tax-exempt entities under the IRS’ intermediate sanctions rules.
  • Experience in successfully leading and managing in an environment undergoing change and an evolving business strategy, including hybrid work, emerging technology, and multi-generational workforce needs.
  • Human Resource business partner experience with demonstrated success in managing change and developing creative strategies to address workforce planning, talent management, employee engagement, retention, rewards, performance management, development plans, and motivation issues/concerns.
  • Demonstrated track record in developing an industry leading organization through innovative Human Resources support, services, and programs.
  • Experience in successfully developing and employing strategies and programs for managing a geographically dispersed workforce.
  • A true team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation) demonstrated with passion and energy; able to foster good working relationships with all levels of staff.
  • Strong management and leadership skills; able to coach and mentor an experienced Human Resources team.
  • Analytical and creative problem-solving skills with the ability to manage and lead multiple transformational projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business initiatives into clear, consistent, systemic Human Resources strategies.
  • Experience effectively communicating Human Resources strategy, and related methodologies with internal and external parties in an effort to influence and effect change.
  • College degree in any discipline. A post‐graduate degree in Human Resources, MBA or JD is a plus.
