In summary, the person in this position plans, organizes, directs, evaluates and manages the activities of the Human Resources Department by providing guidance on and daily management/administration of programs and processes related to compensation, benefits, employee relations, recruiting and hiring, coaching and development, implementation of employee training programs, change management initiatives and employee safety programs and compliance.
The qualifications for this position include a minimum of a bachelors' degree in Human Resources, Business or related field and a minimum of 5 years progressively responsible experience in human resource management & administration. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Equivalent education, training, experience, skills, and knowledge may be considered. SHRM-SCP or SPHR highly desired. A valid driver's license is required.
Clark County (Indiana) Government employs over 550 employees in a wide variety of positions who work at various locations throughout the County. The Human Resources Office is located at 300 Corporate Drive, Jeffersonville, IN in the new Clark County Government Center. Travel to other locations and to seminars/conferences, at times overnight, is required.
