Since 1970 CLARE|MATRIX has provided quality substance abuse and mental health treatment to men, women, and children in southern California.

Through programs run by a compassionate, committed, results-oriented team of counselors, therapists, and administrators, CLARE|MATRIX continues to build its reputation as a leader in Evidence-Based Treatment practices and continues to break new ground in the areas of positive outcomes, outreach, research, and community involvement.

The following is representative of the duties, responsibilities and requirements of the job, but is not intended to be an exhaustive list.

Summary:

This role is responsible for building and developing relationships by engaging with community partners to drive growth through various partner channels. This role is responsible for creating and implementing strategies, identifying and nurturing key partnerships to drive admissions and occupancy (patient census) for the Outpatient facilities. This role also conducts outreach to get the word out about CLARE|MATRIX within the community with companies, city officials and community leaders.

Essential Areas of Responsibility
  • Channel strategy development – Develop and implement comprehensive channel strategies to maximize outreach, engagement, and admissions through partner channel opportunities to increase and deepen CLARE|MATRIX’s penetration across new and existing partnerships to build census.
  • Channel management – Establish and manage relationships with referral partners, including healthcare providers, agencies, hospitals, drug courts, residential treatment centers and other community organizations. Develop, nourish, and manage a network of referral sources to drive patient census. Continuously review and address any issues.
  • Performance Reporting – Prepare and provide management reports that monitor and analyze channel performance metrics to track the effectiveness of channel strategies and use data to continuously improve channel performance.
  • Marketing – Develop and execute marketing campaigns that support targeted channel initiatives. Create targeted campaigns and promotional channels collateral, promotional materials, and digital content. Work with the community outreach team to support the creation and execution of the program's communication engagement plan.
  • Compliance and Ethics – Ensure all channel activities comply with grants, regulatory bodies, ethical standards and company policies.
  • Training and Support – Provide effective presentations and training sessions along with ongoing support to channel partners on appropriate referrals for our Outreach facilities.
  • Networking - Host events at our Outpatient facilities for networking, or for potential participants of the program. Spread the word about CLARE|MATRIX in the community with the goal of building census, as well as donor and political support. Attend events and fairs on behalf of CLARE|MATRIX, both in person and virtually.
  • Provide leadership and industry knowledge to the organization.
  • Street outreach with the focus on distributing overdose prevention kits, and educational materials.
  • Model and uphold company policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and communication to the Executive Director/CEO.
  • Answer phone calls and emails.

Secondary Areas of Responsibility
  • Schedule meetings and attend scheduled meetings with key company personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
  • Lead and monitor the role of the Outreach Navigator, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Primary Objectives
  • Develop and execute a sales channel strategy to drive growth and expand our reputation in the community.
  • Supports the vision of the Executive Leadership Team and the Executive Director/CEO.
  • Network and build up Outpatient census for improved income stream.
  • Building strategic relationships.
  • The role is a full-time, in-person position when not out in the community. The office is based in Los Angeles, California and reports to the headquarters office in Santa Monica, California.

Knowledge, Experience & Skills
  • Dynamic and results-driven with proven track record in driving revenue growth, optimizing sales channel processes and building strong relationships with channel partners.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of substance use disorder “SUD”, co-occurring mental health disorders, and the unhoused field.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the clinical environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently drive projects forward, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • The ability to think outside the box, look for opportunities, see the big picture, problem solve, and be flexible and adaptable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including social and presentation skills.
  • Digital media marketing skills highly preferred, including social media, web design and graphic design.

Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required, or an acceptable equivalent of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a relevant field and organization required.
  • 3 years of experience in the substance use disorder “SUD” field working with unhoused populations in an outreach role.
  • 2 years of management experience and experience working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
Physical Demands:

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to handle or feel. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands overhead or below the waist, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is regularly required to lift, carry, push or pull up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Medical History:

All employees whose functions require or necessitate contact with client or food preparation shall complete a health screening report or a health questionnaire. Health screening report or health questionnaire will be provided upon hire. For all residential employees a health screening report, be completed and signed off by a medical practitioner signature for clearance. All outpatient employees will complete at minimum a self-report screening questionnaire.

A TB test is to be conducted under licensed medical supervision not more than 60 calendar days prior to or 7 calendar days after employment and renewed annually from the date of the last tuberculosis test. Staff with a known record of tuberculosis or record of positive testing shall not be required to obtain a tuberculosis skin test. Unless there is documentation that the staff completed at least 6 months of preventive therapy, the staff shall be required to obtain, within 45 calendar days of employment, a chest x-ray result and a physician’s statement that the incumbent does not have communicable tuberculosis and has been under regular care and monitoring for tuberculosis. A chest x-ray within the prior 6 months is acceptable. The physician’s statement shall be renewed annually.

This job will be primarily located at the CLARE|MATRIX offices, in Los Angeles, California and reports to the company’s headquarters in Santa Monica, CA.
