Executive Vice President (EVP) Job Description

Overview: The Executive Vice President (EVP) will oversee critical functions including Branching Services, Operations, IT, Marketing, Lending, and Compliance. This role requires a visionary leader with extensive experience in financial services, capable of driving growth, operational excellence, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The EVP will work closely with the CEO and other executive team members to shape the strategic direction of the organization, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership:
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives aligned with the credit union's mission and objectives.
    • Drive organizational growth, operational efficiency, and member satisfaction through innovative leadership.
    • Collaborate with the Board of Directors and executive team to set long-term goals and strategies.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation and responsiveness to market changes.
    • Participate in strategic planning sessions and ensure alignment across all departments.
  2. Operational Oversight:
    • Lead Branching Services to ensure effective management of all branch operations and member services.
    • Direct Operations to optimize processes, improve efficiency, and enhance service delivery.
    • Oversee IT operations, including infrastructure management, cybersecurity, and digital transformation initiatives.
    • Be a liaison for the Lending VP to ensure growth, risk, and quality standards are being maintained.
    • Ensure Compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards.
    • Implement best practices in all areas to achieve operational excellence and member satisfaction.
    • Develop and enforce policies that enhance operational effectiveness and service quality.
  3. Financial Management:
    • Collaborate with the Executive Team to oversee financial performance, budgeting, and resource allocation.
    • Monitor key financial metrics and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
    • Assist in developing and managing financial plans to ensure the sustainability and profitability of the organization.
    • Analyze financial performance data to make informed business decisions and drive growth.
  4. Team Development:
    • Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
    • Promote professional development and succession planning to support organizational growth.
    • Lead by example, demonstrating commitment to the credit union’s values and mission.
  5. Technology and Innovation:
    • Drive technological advancements and innovation initiatives to support operational efficiency and digital member engagement.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to maintain competitiveness and relevance in the financial services industry.
    • Implement digital transformation projects to enhance member experience and streamline operations.
    • Ensure robust cybersecurity measures are in place to protect member data and maintain trust.
    • Partner with technology vendors to explore new solutions that enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Extensive experience in financial services, with a proven track record of strategic leadership and operational excellence.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the financial industry.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and lead large-scale projects.
  • Proven experience in financial management and budgeting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders, including members, employees, and the Board of Directors.
