Summary/Objective

The Employee Relations Specialist will assist with gathering, collecting, processing, and maintaining documents and records.

Essential Function

  • Serve as initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee complaints.
  • Gather information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, and other concerns; inform the Director when additional investigation is required.
  • Assist with processing and recordkeeping related to terminations, leave, transfer, and promotions.
  • Assist in conducting surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to labor relations and human resources.
  • Assist with preparing reports, plans, policies, and documents, related to EEO, affirmative action, organizational charts, labor agreements, and employee handbooks.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. The incumbent must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Specific hours will be assigned by your supervisor.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required.

Education and Experience

  • At least three years of professional human resources administration required with experience in employee relations preferred.
  • SHRM-CP preferred.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance

The position requires the employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
