Payroll Specialist

BCforward is seeking a motivated Payroll Specialist for an opportunity in Norfolk, VA.
Job Description:
As a Payroll Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing the TotalSource Solution for new clients with respect to Payroll. You will use a consultative approach to assess the current state, map to the PEO co-employment structure, and develop solutions where gaps exist. You will manage client expectations throughout onboarding, anticipate and overcome configuration and compliance issues to ensure a smooth transition. You will be responsible for the processing of payrolls and special requests for assigned clients. You will ensure that accuracy and integrity of all data entered into the system is correct for both payroll to employees and billing to clients. You will ensure timeliness of all new business and ensure compliance with both federal and state tax regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Analysis: You will take part in new client conversion meetings, review and confirm components of Payroll in a consultative manner with the Key Client contact(s). You will ensure understanding of the co-employment relationship as it relates to Payroll. You will analyze complex requirements for Payroll and related financial accounting information. You will set up the client in TotalSource systems.
- Project Management: You will manage the completion of tasks and provide timely and accurate input on project status to the Client and Implementation Consultant. You will audit and resolve any issues related to client paperwork and systems during the conversion period through closure. You will ensure payroll is set up (and run twice) before transitioning the client to Payroll Service.
- Accurate and Timely Completion: You will complete all data entry and wage information accurately and on time. You will ensure all data is properly coded for client billings and filings. You will perform all necessary functions to ensure a smooth transition to Payroll Operations.
- Client Interaction and Problem Resolution: You will resolve client payroll issues in a timely manner by utilizing appropriate resources and proper channels.
