Job Title: Language Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Language Specialist to join our team at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). As a Language Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the FBI's language-related operations and providing language support to our agents and analysts.

Job Summary

The Language Specialist will be responsible for translating and interpreting various types of materials, including documents, audio recordings, and video recordings. You will work closely with our agents and analysts to provide language support and assistance in a variety of settings, including investigations, intelligence gathering, and training.

Key Responsibilities
  • Translate and interpret various types of materials, including documents, audio recordings, and video recordings
  • Provide language support and assistance to FBI agents and analysts in investigations, intelligence gathering, and training
  • Work closely with our agents and analysts to provide language support and assistance in a variety of settings
  • Develop and maintain language skills in Chinese Mandarin and other languages as needed
Requirements
  • Must be a current, permanent FBI employee
  • Must be able to obtain an SCI clearance
  • Must have Chinese capabilities
  • Applicants must verify completion of the basic education requirement by submitting a copy of college transcripts by the closing date of the vacancy announcement, if using education to qualify
