Electrophysiology Specialist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrophysiology Specialist to join our team at Sentara Heart Hospital. As an Electrophysiology Specialist, you will assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures and device implants. You will provide patient care to all electrophysiology patients, including acquisition and reduction of all pertinent information related to their procedure. Additionally, you will provide didactic and clinical training.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and therapeutic electrophysiology procedures and device implants
  • Provide patient care to all electrophysiology patients, including acquisition and reduction of all pertinent information related to their procedure
  • Provide didactic and clinical training
  • Perform/review baseline patient assessments, evaluate patient response to diagnostic or interventional maneuvers and medications during cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures
  • Provide patient care and drug administration commonly used in the cardiac catheterization laboratory as requested and under the direction of a qualified physician
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a diploma, associate, or baccalaureate academic program in health science (includes, but not limited to, cardiovascular technology, ultrasound, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing)
  • One-year related experience required
  • BLS and RCIS or RCES certification required. ACLS will be required within 90 days of hire
