Office and Human Resources Coordinator

Spirit of America seeks an Office and Human Resources Coordinator to join our team and help us achieve mission success by supporting the office management and human resources functions. The Coordinator’s mission is to support facility needs and help grow a high performing team. Success in this role requires an independent self-starter who will be an essential part of a high-performing team that is making groundbreaking contributions to freedom, democracy, and America’s security.
The Office and Human Resources Coordinator requires teamwork, discretion, judgment, flexibility, and personal responsibility. The Coordinator must be willing and able to perform a wide range of administrative and support functions to help ensure Spirit of America’s continued success. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Human Resources and provides office management support on behalf of the entire organization and HR administrative support to Human Resources team. This is a full-time exempt position based in the Arlington, VA office.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, negotiate and maintain relationships with building management, office and technology vendors.
- Mail pickup and recording/electronic distribution. Responsible for outgoing shipments and mailings.
- Manage office and kitchen supply inventory and responsible for ordering/restocking.
- Support the Director of Human Resources with a focus on recruitment. Evaluating resumes, schedule, and conduct screening interviews.
- Learn basic functionality of ADP and eventually act as payroll backup support.
- Support the Director of Human Resources with staff learning goals, professional development and team morale initiatives.
- Support Spirit of Americas trainings and professional development programs.
- Manage key cards and parking spaces for team members to have access to the building and parking as needed.
- Greeting on-site consultants and visitors.
- Support the onboarding of new team members by creating schedule, designate workspace, act as a liaison, and preparing computers and phones.
- Key member of event planning committees including vendor negotiations as needed:
- Determine suitable location for conferences.
- Coordinate catering.
- Arrange and organize lodging for traveling participants.
- Organize lodging for participants and identify any additional participant needs.
- Responsible for the setup and takedown of an event/conference
- Support the IT Director with in-office technology coordination, including conference and meeting room technology.
- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are required.
- A positive, organized, team-oriented approach to problem solving and a desire to learn
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills in both one-on-one and group settings.
- Success in managing multiple administrative responsibilities simultaneously.
Compensation
Salary range $59,000 to $71,000 based on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, and 403b contribution match to 4%.
