Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Description

The position reports to the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF) Manager and provides logistical and administrative support to the Foundation including responding to member inquiries, preparing materials, creating presentations, and assisting with scholarship selection and notification processes.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates distribution of information to SNF donors at the direction of the Manager.
  • Uses the SNA database to maintain accurate information on SNF donors and runs reports as required.
  • Assists with the solicitation of donations for the Foundation, including at SNA conferences as assigned and via existing and new fundraising campaigns and events.
  • Assists with coordinating the annual scholarship and equipment grant applications process using the Submittable platform and monitors and tracks applications.
  • Answers incoming calls and emails to the snf@schoolnutrition.org inbox, fulfills routine information requests, and responds to staff and member inquiries.
  • Works with the Manager and CEO to prepare for Foundation Board meetings, including the creation and revision of agendas, scheduling, posting materials on the board portal, preparing handouts, and drafting minutes.
  • Assists the Foundation Manager in supporting the work of the Scholarship and Equipment Grant Selection Committees.
  • Assists in making website updates and social media posts for the Foundation and assists with the drafting of articles and updates.
  • Assists with creation of communications packets and drafts documents as needed and edits and proofreads content and communications.
  • Assists with research and preparation of materials for PR-related stories.
Position Relationships
  • Works with SNA staff.
  • Works with Association members and donors.
  • Works with staff at granting organizations.
Supervision

Receives frequent supervision and direction from the position’s supervisor. Uses independent judgment only for routine decisions.

Education

Bachelor's degree or high school diploma with equivalent combination of experience and training.

Qualifications
  • Two years or more working in a business environment, providing support to programs and services, association or non-profit preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to review problems and resourcefully research and identify solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for drafting, editing, and proofing routine correspondence, writing emails, presentations, updates, summaries and other communications for a wide variety of audiences.
  • Strong detail-oriented, organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with different timelines in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads and changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to and patience to work with and provide customer service to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exposure to a database to access customer or member information preferred.
  • Experience using the internet to conduct research, and proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Work experience in a service-oriented or customer service environment preferred.
