Position Description

This position serves as a primary resource for membership campaign oversight and implementation, promoting recruiting and retention programs, and supporting strategies to boost and retain memberships at a state and national level. This position will support the enhancement of the individual member experience by creating experiences supported by technology and data driven initiatives including those leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI). Manages the administration and daily operation of key engagement programs and campaigns.

This position manages and operationalizes SNA Awards programs, including the Star Club, the National Director, Manager, Employee and Industry Member of the year programs.

Position Responsibilities

Recruiting & Retention

  • With guidance from the VP Membership & Credentialing and in collaboration with the MarCom and Industry Relations Center, develops strategies and promotional ideas for membership recruitment and retention campaigns including the annual membership campaign, seasonal membership drives, and leads implementation of approved ideas.
  • Tracks membership statistics and trends to identify new prospects for membership promotion and makes recommendations for improvements to existing campaigns.
  • Develops targeted activation campaigns to increase engagement and prepare reports on engagement effectiveness.
  • Supports the implementation of member engagement strategies in partnership with Membership Manager.
  • Develops membership communications including renewal letters, text for membership cards, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work with Research Manager to initiate and analyze surveys to identify membership trends and patterns.

State Membership Support

  • Creates engagement campaigns and plans implementation schedules in coordination with State Affiliates.
  • Maintains close, working relationships with State Affiliate Relations Manager and state membership processors and chairs, assisting with concerns, issues, and information requests.

Awards

  • Coordinates the STAR Club program including relevant recognition activities including the STAR Club breakfast at the Annual National Conference.
  • Coordinates promotion, nominations, and judging for the SNA Awards Programs, including membership awards, industry member of the year, and state association awards.
  • Oversees the judging process for awards programs which includes vetting nominations and supporting the work of the regional and national selection committee(s).
  • Plans and coordinates all recognition activities associated with awards programs.

Supervision

Receives general supervision and direction from position’s supervisor. Exercises some independent judgment and discretion.

Position Relationships

  • Works with SNA staff members.
  • Works with state affiliate staff and volunteer leaders.
  • Communicates with existing and prospective members

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or high school diploma with additional training and/or professional work experience.
  • Three years or more of work in a business environment with relevant responsibilities interacting with members and supporting member engagement.
  • Work experience in a service-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with an ability to research and identify solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently and as part of a team with the ability to draw connections between day-to-day job responsibilities and the goals of the organization.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for drafting, editing, and proofing correspondence, writing emails, presentations, reports, summaries, and other communications for a wide variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Detail-oriented, organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks with different timelines in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating workloads and changing priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to and patience to work with and provide customer service to a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exposure to managing projects including planning, establishing timelines and milestones, tracking and executing deliverables, and closing the project.
  • Demonstrated experience using a database to access customer or member information, using the internet to conduct research, and proficiency in Microsoft tools such as Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook, as well as virtual meeting platforms such as Zoom.
