PRODUCTION PLANNER/SCHEDULER

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Responsible for overseeing all the activities related to the supply chain process to support production plans.
  • Accurately plan timelines, develop strategies, as well as do the logistics in order for the finish goods to be shipped on time. Utilizes Dynamics AX (MRP) for planning and scheduling purposes.
  • Understand manufacturing methods, cycle times required to look after the product, from when it’s in the raw material stage to when it becomes available for sale
  • Understand capacity bottlenecks
  • Reviews rework, obsolete, and expiring inventory and advises manufacturing on potential rework based on defined production plan.
  • Responsible for planning process taking into account procurement, manufacturing, inventory control, distribution and logistics.
  • Communicates with key personnel and operations managers, shipping, procurement, inventory control, and logistics to ensure that they understand timelines and objectives.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal and external customers to ensure the flow of materials remain unhampered.
  • Develops production plans for all product lines to ensure sales can be achieved effectively.
  • Ensure that manufacturing is adhering to the production plan to minimize lost sales and costly delays.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • BS Degree preferred in Business discipline or 7-10 years of relevant/equivalent business experience preferably in chemicals, refinery, oil & gas or related industry.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain very good relationships with different levels of the company including union hourly, ICC, sales, and operations.
  • Ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to accept and respond to changes and challenges in a positive manner.
  • Computer skills with knowledge of Dynamics AX, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, and especially MS Excel, as spreadsheet development is a key component.
  • Exposure to and knowledge of the internal purchasing and inventory computer systems.
  • Broad understanding of business issues, metrics, and organizational linkages.
  • High energy and passion for excellence, bias for action, adaptability, and resilience.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze problems and provide accurate solutions.
  • Demonstrated skills in time management and managing multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are a must, including the Perform basic to intermediate math functions and be able to convert units of measure.
  • Needs a direct and intensive approach and must be able to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed, especially when problems occur or when deadlines must be met.
  • Must have generic competencies of analytical thinking, communication and interpersonal understanding, initiative, team work and team leadership, and quality orientation/attention to detail.
  • Six Sigma training a plus.
  • Some travel will be required.
