§ Assesses process efficiency, quality, and safety; proposes enhancements when necessary; performs troubleshooting on plant machinery and systems.
§ Investigates causes and effects of critical, emergency, and other shutdowns; analyzes data prior to and following shutdowns.
§ Evaluates how process modifications will impact overall production and product; implements process enhancements to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
§ Assists with project planning and management; initiates minor capital upgrades as requested.
§ Provides insights during incident investigations as requested; advises on corrective measures.
§ Researches new manufacturing technologies; proposes updates as appropriate.
§ Prioritizes safety at all times. Evaluates safety and environmental concerns as necessary; ensures safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety regulations.
§ Adheres to all safety protocols and practices relevant to the position; participates in safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; advocates for safety.
§ Performs additional duties as assigned by management that generally align with the expected scope of this position.
§ Serves as a leader to a designated team of engineers; assumes delegated responsibilities of the Production Manager in their absence.

Experience Requirements
§ Several years of experience as a Process Engineer in large-scale petrochemical plant operations.
§ Extensive experience in ethylene plant operations required for Cracker, extensive MEG plant operations experience required for MEG, extensive CAPEX experience required for CAPEX work.
§ Ability to research best practices in chemical plant operations; knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations for engineering and construction.
§ Proficient in reading engineering, construction, and other technical specifications, drawings, schematics, plans, and similar documents.
§ Knowledgeable in understanding complex government regulations and translating/incorporating requirements into chemical manufacturing practices.
§ Capable of translating technical plans into easily understandable terms and communicating such translations clearly.
§ Familiar with rules, regulations, best practices, and performance standards in process engineering.
§ Proactive, highly organized, detail-oriented; strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential.
§ Excellent time management and organizational skills; adaptable; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
§ Strong analytical and mathematical skills; solid understanding of core engineering and manufacturing principles required.
§ Comfortable integrating new technologies into existing business operations.
§ Experience with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including RCRA.
§ Capable of multitasking, prioritizing, and following through on assignments.
§ Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to utilize database systems and other applications relevant to this position and at the company.
§ Fluent in English, with strong reading, writing, and speaking abilities to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
Education Requirements
§ Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
§ Professional Engineer certification is a plus.
§ Six Sigma certification is a plus.
