The North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM) is seeking a Part Time Human Resources Generalist. This position is part of the Human Resources team and assists the Human Resources Manager in developing and administering all aspects of the League’s Human Resources function. This is accomplished by providing assistance in day-to-day operations that include: HRIS software navigation, employee benefits, recruiting, coordinating employee orientation, workers’ compensation, and employee leave. Other duties include serving as a liaison to the employee assistance program, assisting with coordinating and monitoring League committees and additional staff events. Also provides assistance to the NCLM Executive team, as needed.

Additional duties include:

  • Responsible for setting up requisitions and job postings, creating onboarding/orientation packets, managing and updating resource material on the organization’s intranet, and creating and updating helpful material to provide to staff, as needed.
  • Performs additional duties by coordinating and monitoring League committees; assisting executive staff, as needed, and responding to employee issues.
  • Coordinates new employee orientation by conducting presentations in the absence of the Human Resource Manager; and explaining employee benefits.

Minimum Qualifications:

Work requires knowledge of a specific vocational, administrative, or technical nature which may be obtained with a two-year associate's degree, diploma or equivalent from a college, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school. Appropriate certification may be awarded upon satisfactory completion of advanced study or training.
