Job Summary

The Human Resource Generalist plays a vital role in supporting the HR department at North Carolina Retina Associates. This includes talent acquisition, orientation and onboarding, learning and development programs, and interpreting policy.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified applicants for open positions.
  • Conducts pre-employment screenings for applicants.
  • Develops and implements new hire orientation and onboarding plans.
  • Designs and implements employee recognition programs.
  • Responds to employment-related inquiries, including employment verifications.
  • Develops, implements, and maintains learning and development programs for clinical and administrative departments.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of human resources experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, including effective listening, clear verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to master multiple software systems to input and retrieve data.
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment laws.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HCM system.
Preferred Requirements
  • HR certification from HRCI or SHRM.
  • Previous multi-site healthcare experience.
Essential Job Functions
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally via telephone.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and using a computer terminal to read and write.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, sitting, repetitive hand movements, and lifting up to 10lbs.
  • Must be able to drive to locations when necessary.

The position is hybrid, requiring only scheduled meetings, events, and programs in the office.
