Description:

The Fire Alarm and Security System Technician is responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems and resolving any problems. This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm and security products, supporting software, and electrical systems.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Installation, Service, and Inspections of Fire Alarms and associated systems.
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections.
  • Communicate with customer before and after any call to explain work performed.
  • Ensure timely job completion.
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job.
  • Take turns in On-Call rotation.
  • May Mentor Fire and / or Security technicians on tools and technology.

 

Skills:

Fire alarm, Service, Troubleshooting, Access control, Install, Low Voltage, Cable, Alarm Systems, FASA/BASA

 

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes.
  • Minimum 2 years’ field experience in inspection, repair, and installation of fire alarm and security system systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of low voltage systems.
  • Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Proficient in the use of computers and smart phones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android.
  • High Level of Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving Skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required.
  • Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision.
