Schedule: Flexible Schedule, 20 hours per week wit h opportunity for more hours over time. 

Pay: 25.00/hour- 30.00/hour 

 

The confidential responsibilities of this position are, but are not limited to:

  • Prepares correspondence, reports, files and other documents as needed; performs data entry within database
  • Assists with maintenance of office files, records, and related documents, including confidential personnel matters
  • Maintains the responsibility to release only appropriate information
  • Assists with new hire, job change, pay change, separation, benefits, leave, and welfare processing 
  •  Assists with projects, events, schedule coordination/appointments, and greets visitors and welfare applicants
  • May cross-train in key areas and provide extra coverage during peak activity times and/or absences 
  • Answers Department telephone calls, receives and greets visitors to the Department and provides information to or refers callers and visitors to other appropriate personnel or service agencies
  • May compose correspondence, memos and reports for the Director
  • Assists employees with obtaining proper forms for payroll and benefit changes
  • May order supplies and materials for the department.  Gathers, opens and distributes office mail

 

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from High School or possession of a GED, supplemented by additional training or experience in Human Resources
  • Associates degree with HR Certificate or National HR Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in general office operations, human resources preferred
  • Proof of general HR local, state, and federal law knowledge applicable to municipalities 
  • Must have a confirmed ability to work with honesty, integrity, and in a confidential manner.  
  • Thorough knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, software and equipment, including
     recordkeeping and filing and ability in write/prepare correspondences according to standard business practices
  • Proven ability to use the basic functions of data entry and data processing with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide and derive percentages;
  • Ability to work in a general office setting with frequent interruptions and competing priorities and follow
     specifications and/or oral instructions
