Responsibilities
- Manage communication with partner representatives and volunteers and all associated responsibilities related to programming and for any activities collaborating with internal teams and external contractors.
- Encouraging student participation during events including facilitation of education content as needed.
- Oversee facilitator team members including Education Associates and other temporary employee resources and coordinate with other managers and coordinators on daily tasks and outcomes.
- Ensure there is cross-departmental integration and collaboration with all programming-focused teams.
- Act as a point of contact and liaison to Chicago schools and community groups engaging in Education programming and ensure Education KPI's are being met.
- Coordinate requests for assistance from internal partners which may include but not limited to providing information for marketing materials or the design and production of items and includes collaboration with a variety of internal partners.
- Collaborate with other departments, internal Griffin MSI teams and external partners to coordinate onsite an off-site programming and provide communication support for external partners and clients.
- Participate in the research of and support the development and prototyping of new Education programs in collaboration with department Managers, Sr. Director, and other Coordinators.
- Stay current with new trends, program content and delivery methods, both locally and nationally as related to educational STEAM-focused content and current events.
- Track, record, and analyze program attendance data and program assessment results to be reviewed and then utilized in the improvement of existing programming.
- Track all department schedules and coordination of programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Two (2) to four (4) years' experience with youth or public program design, facilitation, and management is required.
- Bachelor's degree is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills required as well as effective resource management.
- Exceptional collaboration skills, especially with groups of diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to speak confidently in front of audiences including senior stakeholders or supervisors is required.
- Experience in engaging audiences of diverse ages and backgrounds required.
- Individual must possess excellent verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills required; experience with project management applications including Asana is preferable.
- Occasional weekend and evening programming as needed.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required.
- Bilingual ability in Spanish preferred.
- Language:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals.
- Mathematical:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, etc.
- Reasoning:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Physical:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment:
- The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
