About Us: Our client is a leading provider in the insurance industry, committed to delivering innovative solutions and exceptional service to their clients. We are seeking a visionary and dynamic Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) to join their team and build out our FP&A function from the ground up.

Job Summary: The Vice President of FP&A will be responsible for establishing and leading the FP&A function, developing financial strategies, and building a high-performing team to support the company’s growth and financial objectives. Reporting to the CFO, this role will work closely with executive leadership to drive financial planning, analysis, and decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Build and Develop the FP&A Function:

  • Establish the FP&A department, including defining processes, systems, and best practices.
  • Hire and develop a high-performing FP&A team to support the company’s strategic goals.
  • Implement financial planning tools and software to streamline operations and enhance analytical capabilities.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

  • Lead the development of annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and identify opportunities for improvement.

Strategic Financial Leadership:

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to drive business growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support M&A activities, including financial modeling, due diligence, and integration planning.

Operational Excellence:

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure financial and operational performance.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support scenario analysis, business planning, and risk management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with business units and departments to provide financial support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting and alignment with GAAP.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the FP&A team and across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance, or related roles within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with executive leadership.
  • Proficiency in financial planning software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory requirements within the insurance industry.
