Position Overview:


The Vice President (VP) of Financial Operations at Orlando Health, serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Ambulatory Services, delivers critical financial insights, guidance, and analysis to executive leadership teams by actively engaging as a key member of the organization’s leadership structure.

The CFO is responsible for overseeing daily financial activities, including gross revenue, operational costs, and productivity metrics, while initiating corrective measures as necessary. Furthermore, the CFO identifies both strategic and operational opportunities and effectively communicates these insights to the leadership teams.

This role is situated within the Orlando, Florida region.

With a comprehensive graduate medical education program hosting over 350 residents and fellows annually, Orlando Health continues to lead pioneering research, including therapies for advanced breast cancer, identifying biomarkers for traumatic brain injury, and offering innovative access to experimental treatments for melanoma.


Key Responsibilities:
1. Develops financial forecasts for new initiatives, capital investments, or proposed modifications in regional operations.

2. Designs and generates customized reports as needed.

3. Facilitates monthly evaluations of operational outcomes for Ambulatory Services.

4. Coordinates the assembly of monthly financial statements, variance assessments, and corrective action plans.

5. Establishes and oversees key performance indicators, providing leadership in enhancing financial and operational performance through these metrics.

6. Analyzes budget variances and guides managers in formulating action plans to address discrepancies.

7. Directs Care Management, Utilization Management, and Health Information Management activities in alignment with Corporate Revenue Management.

8. Oversees revenue cycle management, supply chain operations, labor management, and other corporate initiatives in collaboration with corporate leaders.

9. Ensures accurate charge capture and conducts charge reconciliations to maintain proper charge capture on a daily and monthly basis.

10. Guarantees timely compliance with medical record documentation and manages deficiencies to ensure prompt claims submission.

11. Leads the preparation of operational and capital budgets in conjunction with Corporate Financial Planning.


12. Supervises the review, approval, and financial oversight of all capital projects while maintaining the overall long-term capital strategy.

13. Anticipates future trends, challenges, and opportunities impacting financial performance.


14. Collaborates with physicians to support financial operational objectives, including understanding their needs and educating them on the organization’s financial landscape.

15. Updates and manages the development of the organization’s 5-year strategic financial plan in partnership with Corporate Finance.

16. Provides leadership and training to team members regarding financial management and reporting.

17. Manages support staff, including administrative personnel and financial analysts, as required.

18. Adheres to corporate standards for financial analysis and forecasting.

19. Collaborates closely with the Senior Vice President of Finance on corporate initiatives, including information systems, long-term financial planning, labor management, budgeting, and accounting.

20. Understands the effective use of financial systems to optimize operational analysis.

21. Complies with internal controls, policies, and procedures while actively promoting adherence.

22. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Hospital President and/or Senior Vice President of Finance.

Qualifications:
Education

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or Business Administration is mandatory.

A Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) is highly regarded.

Certification

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is essential.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in Accounting and Finance, with at least 3 years in a Regional Accounting Firm.

Experience in the healthcare sector or with healthcare clients is preferred.
