Radar System Engineer

An aerospace client is looking for a Radar System Engineer to support on-site, dedicated 2nd and 3rd shift and weekend test bench operations for the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) of a production Space Payload program.
Location: Linthicum, MD 21090
Position: Systems Test Engineer
Pay Rate: $60 to $80/hr. on W2 (depending on experience)
Duration: 12 months or longer
Schedule: 9x80
Shift: Must be willing to work the 2nd or 3rd shift plus one day on the weekend.
***Candidates must be willing to work the night shift and be eligible for TS/SCI clearance***
***24/7 operation for at least the remainder of the year***
Responsibilities:
- Executing test scripts for the verification of Software, Hardware, and System requirements for applications in Space.
- Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) systems, especially RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS; programming and scripting skills;
- Working knowledge of RF test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, etc.) is desired.
Requirements:
- BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math); or HS diploma with at least 4 years of relevant military experience with sensor system, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance, or military control room console operator; or defense industry work experience with sensor system, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance
- Willingness to work dedicated 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends for several months continuously (2nd shift is typically 1 PM – 10 PM; 3rd shift is typically 9 PM – 6 AM)
- No clearance needed to start for escorted work.
- U.S. Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with RADAR and/or ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) integration and test.
- Experience with Space Payload or Space Vehicle (Satellite) integration and test in a clean room environment.
- Programming in C or MATLAB for understanding and editing/improving existing code.
- Scripting in Python or Tcl for understanding and editing/improving existing scripts.
- Experience with Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket.
- TS/SCI clearance for unescorted work.
