We invite you to become part of our team as a Senior Principal Embedded Software Engineer. This role requires full on-site engagement.

The Software and Digital Technologies Organization is recruiting for three distinct sub-organizations:

Software Technologies: Focused on radars and sensors for ground and aerial platforms. Our organization boasts stable projects across various clients and platforms, encompassing ship-based countermeasures, battlefield awareness, real-time radar processing, aerial target detection and tracking, cognitive and adaptive electronic warfare, among others. Product Line Software: Responsible for developing distributed, real-time, and embedded (DRE) operational technology software systems for general-purpose and high-performance embedded computing applications directly on your Windows or Linux desktop – no specialized hardware necessary. Secure Processing: Committed to safeguarding warfighting capabilities by preventing unauthorized access and protecting against malicious threats.

Key Responsibilities:
As a vital member of our Software and Digital Technologies Organization within Mission Systems Engineering, you will explore new technologies and contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of software for cutting-edge products and systems. Your work will involve software systems for mission-critical applications throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle, primarily utilizing C/C++. By employing Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile methodologies, we continuously evolve our approach to delivering essential national defense products and capabilities for the warfighter. Our success is anchored in our ability to embrace change, act swiftly, and consistently drive innovation.

Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, track defects, develop solutions, and report on progress. Develop and execute unit tests, build verification test plans, and monitor and report testing outcomes. Conduct reviews of software-related products, software designs, and additional technical documentation. Actively engage in Integrated Product Teams (IPT), design reviews, and other necessary evaluations. Participate in technical peer reviews to ensure that system/software requirements are met from a comprehensive system perspective.

Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelor's Degree with 9 years of experience, a Master's Degree with 7 years of experience, or a Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or related technical fields; an additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

U.S. Citizenship is required. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance prior to commencing work.
