The Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) is a trade association that represents the industrial metals industry. MSCI members are primarily distributors and processors of steel, aluminum, and other industrial metals. The organization provides a variety of services to its members, including industry data and analysis, education and training programs, and advocacy on behalf of the industry. MSCI also hosts events and conferences for members to network and share best practices.

The Assistant to the President and CEO is the primary point of contact between members and staff and the President & CEO. The assistant is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the President & CEO’s calendar, travel, expense account documentation, etc.

What You’ll Do:

  • Provides high-level administrative support to the President & CEO
  • Operates as primary point of contact on day to day operational and administrative issues
  • Prepares written correspondence, monitors and evaluates incoming/outgoing correspondence, establishes and maintains both electronic and paper files (including but not limited to expense reports, office suite presentations, tableau reports, etc.).
  • Coordinates travel logistics and manages the calendar of the President & CEO. This includes extensive and, at times, complex travel arrangements, internal/external meetings (virtual, telephonic, and in-person).
  • Prepares complete itineraries including detailed information on ground transportation or car rentals, hotel reservations, meeting locations, distance from the airport, directions to/from the airport, if necessary. Coordinates travel logistics for the President’s spouse as required.
  • Monitor on a daily basis the President & CEO’s messages (voice, email, & snail mail).
  • Responsible for scheduling all meetings of the Board of Directors, Board Committee, 3rd parties, virtual meetings, monthly CEO huddle, member/staff meetings, etc.
  • Prepare all material(s) for review including but not limited to office suite generated visual supports, minutes, virtual polling of availabilities, communications with Directors’ administrative assistants where/when appropriate, accurate maintenance of materials shared in Directorpoint, arrange/manage all aspects of in-person BOD/committee meetings including facilitation of hotel arrangements, lunches/dinners, etc.
  • Coordinate with appropriate individuals any/all AV requirements to support presentations
  • Maintain and update iMIS database as required to ensure accuracy with President & CEO’s contacts/calendar (members, personal, 3rd party organizations, broad based association communities’ leadership, etc.)
  • Actively participates in the preparation of monthly/quarterly/annual managerial and financial reports/presentations
  • Meet monthly in collaboration with Sr. Staff Accountant and the Dowell Group to update forecasts and assist with end of month closing
  • Frequent interaction with senior management of member companies and 3rd parties.
  • Assist in the recruitment, retention, and engagement of members with MSCI’s value proposition.
  • Assist the Office Manager/Sr. Staff Accountant in maintenance of MSCI’s physical office.



What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience in general office support, including the use of software programs, data entry and management required
  • Metals’ industry knowledge or experience preferred
  • Creativity and graphic design skills highly recommended
  • Strong MS Office skills and strong experience/skill with Adobe products (Publisher, Illustrator, Acrobat) along with willingness and capacity to learn new technologies
  • Proven experience and ability with customer service, problem solving, and managing multiple competing priorities
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills required
  • Strong organizational skills (attention to detail) required
  • Ability to interact with a diverse population of members and others required
