POSITION DUTIES

The Title IV, Part A Grant Specialist has\r
primary responsibility for providing support, consultation, direction and technical\r
assistance in the implementation and monitoring of the Title IV, Part A:\r
Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant (SSAE) at the local education\r
agency (LEA) and State level. This position also identifies best practices and\r
evidence-based activities for improving student academic achievement through\r
well-rounded educational opportunities, safe and healthy school initiatives,\r
and effectively using technology to personalize student learning and improve\r
overall digital literacy.\r

Responsibilities include:\r
\r
\r
Assists\r
in the coordination of grant-related activities across the Division.\r
Responsible\r
for research that identifies evidence-based activities in well-rounded\r
educational opportunities, safe and healthy school initiatives and the\r
effective use of technology and maintains an inventory of such activities to\r
inform training, technical assistance and consultation to schools, school\r
systems, MSDE staff, and other agencies. \r
Organizes meetings and workshops to\r
assist in providing leadership and technical assistance in accordance with\r
specifications set by the immediate supervisor. \r
Supports\r
efforts related to the Title IV, Part A grant to provide quality training, and\r
to monitor the implementation of grant activities. \r
Assists\r
the development and implementation of the Title IV, Part A application process.\r
Collects\r
and analyzes data on Title IV, Part A implementation and the use of funds for\r
related activities.\r
Manages\r
the website for the Division of Student Support, Academic Enrichment, and\r
Educational Policy.\r
Assists in the development of the annual\r
calendar and budget, and manages contracts for the provision of local,\r
regional, and statewide training events accordingly.\r
Formats\r
and types text, charts, and graphs for reports to relay information about the\r
program and to meet reporting requirements.\r
Reviews and finalizes interim progress\r
and annual reports regarding Title IV, Part A for the State and United States\r
Department of Education.\r
Assists and supports local Title IV,\r
Part A site visit monitoring reviews.\r

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:\r
A Master's degree or at least 36 hours of equivalent post-baccalaureate\r
course work from an accredited college or university.\r

Experience: Three years of administrative or\r
teaching experience in an education program.\r
�\r

years of experience as described above for the required education.\r
