Position Overview:

The National Institutes of Health is seeking a dedicated professional for the role of Grants Management Supervisor. This position entails serving as the Deputy Chief of Grants Management, overseeing the comprehensive operations of the Grants Management Branch (GMB).


Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the planning, evaluation, negotiation, awarding, and oversight of grants and cooperative agreements.
  • Manage a team of Grants Management Specialists, offering both technical guidance and administrative support, alongside mentoring and training opportunities.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert during federal audits and evaluations of grants and grant programs.
  • Assess and monitor the operational capabilities and performance of applicant organizations and grantees, ensuring compliance with business management protocols related to the grant process.
  • Represent the Institute in various engagements within the grants community.

Qualifications:

To qualify for this position at the GS-14 level, candidates must demonstrate at least one year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in federal service or comparable experience in the private sector. This experience should include:

  • Managing grant-related activities, encompassing both pre-award and post-award processes.
  • Developing and interpreting grants regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinating grant planning and policy functions with other organizational staff.
  • Providing leadership and direction to team members.

All relevant experience, including volunteer work in civic, religious, or organizational activities, will be considered.

This role is classified as a 'non-emergency/teleworker' position, allowing for flexible work arrangements. Candidates may be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report to identify any potential conflicts of interest.
