POSITION OBJECTIVE:


The Payroll Analyst plays an integral role within the HR department, focusing on ensuring employees are compensated accurately and on time.

This position involves a blend of analytical and administrative tasks, including the analysis of payroll data, preparation of reports, and the implementation of payroll procedures when necessary.

This role acts as the liaison between HR and Finance to ensure reporting and reconciliation is completed each payroll.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for coordinating with General Accounting the Dayforce reporting and reconciliation each payroll
  • Prepares journal entries from irregular outputs and reviews with general accounting for posting.
  • Responsible for the analysis and reconciliation of the Payroll Adjustment in Transit Account (PRAIT) and coordination of journal entry preparation.
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliation of void/manual list of payroll checks to ensure proper posting.
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and delivering timely and accurate ad-hoc and scheduled reports to support compliance with company policy, GAAP and federal, state and IRS regulations.
  • Partners with payroll management on new tax set-up and audit process.
  • Reviews, investigates, and resolves tax notices received.
  • Identifies data trends and anomalies and provides fact-based feedback to the team.
  • Provides payroll processing support.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred
  • 2-3 years payroll experience in multistate payroll environment
  • Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytic skills and attention to detail
  • Able to solve complex problems and successfully manage ambiguity and unexpected change
  • Should be highly motivated and familiar with all aspects of payroll processing
  • Up to date with current legislative requirements for payroll
  • This position must be able to work independently and will be required to effectively interact in a team or project environment
  • Position requires advanced working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Working knowledge and experience with Ceridian/Dayforce strongly preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment driven by deadlines
