Emergent Method is seeking qualified candidates to provide application processing and case management support to several projects related to disaster recovery. These are full-time, on-site, project-based positions based in Baton Rouge, La.

The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, proficient communication skills, adept organizational abilities, easily adapt to constantly evolving business demands, and enjoy the challenges of supporting team members in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Process, monitor, track, and report on applications according to established program requirements
  • Regularly receive training on new tasks and activities to support processing of program activities
  • Maintain an understanding of policies, requirements, and procedures related to the program
  • Process applications and determine eligibility of applicants and compile, develop, and maintain project records related to applicant eligibility
  • Provide support for daily project management activities including advising and consulting with applicants
  • Review financial records, underlying documentation, and historical reports for accuracy and completeness
  • Review and understand manuals, standard operating procedures, policies, and other regulatory documents
  • Prepare and deliver information summaries to clients and key stakeholders
  • Review and validate documentation to provide information that is consistent and properly reconciled
  • Meet with and brief applicants with frequent communications and status updates
  • Perform other duties as requested by the project team

Qualifications

Requirements for this position include the following:

  • Experience using technology and various systems to process work activities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to monitor and report on multiple activities with a focus on meeting and exceeding deadlines
  • Ability to work with a team and collaborate with multiple stakeholders to achieve a common goal
  • Ability to timely complete tasks and meet targets for task completion and quality
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adopt new technologies and methodologies

Other preferred (but not required) qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, public administration, emergency management, insurance, or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Experience related to applicant intake and eligibility determinations
  • Experience in grants management, program management, emergency management, QA/QC functions and management, applicant relations, or related experience that clearly demonstrates comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Knowledge and experience working with government agencies, disaster management, and flood recovery programs or efforts
