Job Summary

The Leave Specialist 3 serves as a team lead for the leave administration program, providing subject matter expertise to other leave team members. This role is responsible for developing and integrating new processes for administering leaves of absence, managing assigned leave and accommodation cases, and coordinating with HR and management as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to employees, leaders, and HR staff, handling escalations and providing guidance on leave of absence policies and procedures.
  • Leave Administration: Coordinate with HR and management to administer FMLA, state-mandated, and company leaves, as well as workplace accommodations.
  • Process Development: Create and update leave of absence records in HRIS systems and leave management systems.
  • Departmental Support: Develop processes and procedures related to leave of absence activities, work with internal departments and external vendors to ensure smooth operations, and investigate and resolve escalated issues.
  • Research and Quality: Conduct research to resolve submitted cases, perform monthly random audits to ensure accuracy and compliance, and perform payroll audits to ensure accuracy of timekeeping for leave of absence cases.
Qualifications
  • 4 years of HR experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Advanced computer skills, highly developed oral and written communication skills, excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational skills, advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and advanced leadership skills.
