The Office of the Secretary of State is recruiting to fill a permanent full-time Information Technology Specialist II position in the Information Technology Division (ITD).

Duties: Under the general direction of the Cybersecurity Section Chief, the IT Specialist II supports the architectural and maintenance efforts of IT systems, champions security policies, and drives innovative solutions against emerging threats. The ITS II participates in risk assessments, incident response, and educates the agency on best practices, ensuring robust defense and compliance with evolving cybersecurity standards.

Desirable Qualifications:
Multiple years' experience as a Security Engineer in an enterprise environment.Proven expertise in IT system hardening.Strong background in threat hunting and network anomaly analysis.Experience with multi-platform security solutions, including cloud services (AWS, Azure).Familiar with risk assessment methodologies and manage risk mitigation strategies.Proficient in the latest cybersecurity trends, with an ability to apply NIST and similar guidelines effectively.Experience with vendor solution evaluation and integration to enhance security posture.Demonstrated capability to lead and resolve security incidents with efficient remediation strategies.Proven track record of promoting organizational risk awareness.Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of cybersecurity.
